Bali Art Festival Will Be Showcased at Annual Meetings 2018
Jakarta --- President Joko Widodo officially opened Bali Art Festival in front of the Bajra Sandi Renon Monument, Denpasar on Saturday (23/06). The President was impressed by the art and cultural performances displayed in the event.
The President later requested that the Bali Art Festival will be showcased during the Annual Meetings of IMF-World Bank Group 2018 this October. Along with the First Lady, Iriana, President Jokowi opened the show by wearing green udeng, a Balinese unique hat.
“By saying bismillahirrahmannirrahim (in the name of Alloh, The Beneficent The Merciful), I declare the start of the parade of the 40th Bali Art Festival 2018,” said President Jokowi then hit a gong, also with the presence of Bali Governor I Made Mangku Pastika.
A number of ministers under the Working Cabinet were accompanying the President and the First Lady. After this session, nine regencies/cities across Bali were performing their art. This culture parade was also joined by representatives from outside Bali, like Papua, communities from Sunda Kecil as well as representatives from Japan and China General Consulate.
Head of Culture Agency of the Bali Province, Dewa Putu Beratha, said the opening parade was taken part by 1,000 artists.
