Luhut Confirms Indonesia is Ready to Host AM 2018

Jakarta- Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Panjaitan reaffirmed Indonesia's readiness to host the Annual Meetings of IMF-World Bank Group in Bali, October 2018. This was said in a press conference on the IMF-World Spring Meetings event in Washington DC, Friday, April 20, 2018.

Accompanied by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rudiantara, he said that various facilities have been prepared by the National Committee of the IMF-WBG AM.

"We have prepared everything such as hotels, venues, offices, security, to transportation," he said who is also Chairman of the National Committee AM 2018.

Infrastructure has also been prepared to support the success of the event which will be attended by more than 15 thousand participants.

He reaffirmed “The Acceleration of infrastructure that has been done will not only give benefit to delegates and participants but also the citizens of Indonesia."

For example, the government extended the runway of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. After the event, the runaway will continue to be used for the aviation business on a regular basis.

In addition, various supporting tools such as computers, internet networks, and desk-chairs, will be donated to some areas after the event finished. 

Not only that, various tourist destinations have also been prepared. The government expects that the delegates and participants of the event can also enjoy the beauty and cultures of Indonesia. 

The Committee Chairman also said that all readiness is supported by the funding that has been prepared since 2015 when Indonesia was selected as the host of Annual Meetings.
