Finance Minister and the Governor of Bank Indonesia opens VTI art Exhibition
Indonesia Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati and the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Agus Martowardojo, open the Voyage to Indonesia, Art Exhibition event; Indonesia Connecting The World, at Jusuf Anwar Building, Ministry of Finance. Tuesday (13/3)
The mural art exhibition held by National Secretariat Committee is a series of event welcoming the biggest international financial and economic event in the world, the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – the World Bank Group (WBG) 2018, which will later be held in Bali in October 2018.
The opening of the exhibition held from 12 to 14 March 2018 marked with the unveiling of the mural art that were made by 8 Indonesian artists. This art also shows the importance of diversity, cooperation, communication, and tolerance in shaping and building the peaceful and prosperous society.
Also attending the event the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who is the National Chairman of Annual Meetings of the IMF-WBG Bali 2018, the Vice Minister of Finance Mardiasmo, also the heads of domestic banks.
In her speech Sri Mulyani expressed, this art exhibition will introduce Indonesia’s face that is rich with diversity, and the commitment to unite with the international society. Not only has the idea of diversity, but Indonesia also had the commitment to be united by putting forward tolerance.
“I hope that VTI art exhibition with the mural art can show the world, the true face of Indonesia and the true value of Indonesia that is the value of diversity that can work together.” Said the best Minister of Finance in the world.
The mural art is an artwork by Marishka Soekarna, Yudi Andhika, Widyatmiko, Rizky Aditya Nugroho, Oldy Juralki, Adi Dharma, Muchlis Fahri, and Age Airlangga with the curator Amir Sidharta will be exhibited in the Spring Meetings IMF – WGB 2018 in Washington DC, United States, later on April 2018.
This mural art will later be place in the hallway that used to be passed by people from the World Bank main Atrium to the IMF building as an effort from Indonesia to be the host of Annual Meetings IMF-WBG 2018 to introduce the art, culture and Indonesia’s tourism to the world.
In his speech Agus Martowardojo said, that in the last 2 years, Indonesia has implementing the Voyage to Indonesia, which is the preparations that has been done to welcome and conduct the Annual Meetings IMF-WBG 2018 in the October.
“God be willing in the Annual Meetings IMF-WBG 2018, we will show the world, not only our national economy, but also the beauty of our tourist destinations completely, the diversity of Indonesia’s art and culture” said the Governor of Bank Indonesia.
Governor Agus also added, during the Annual Meetings IMF-WBG 2018 in Bali, there will be at least 15.000 participants who will be present in Bali to attend this event. While it’s true about the expression 'The World is Coming To Indonesia’, because everybody comes to Bali to experience Indonesia.
